What is UL battery standard?
In short
A safety test for e-scooter battery systems, and whether the brand says its scooters meet it.
The UL battery standard is a safety test for the electrical and battery system of self-balancing two-wheelers such as e-scooters. It sets out test conditions for things like overcharge, impact and temperature, so a scooter that meets it has been put through deliberate abuse testing. That is different from a road approval, which tells you where you may ride, not how the battery is built. Apollo, Circooter and E-TWOW are all listed as stating it. EMOVE and Freego are not. Treat it as a strong signal on the battery, then check road legality separately.
